Get ready to feel the softest and cleanest you’ve ever been. The GOSHI exfoliating towel is a Japanese shower towel and body exfoliator designed to deeply cleanse areas ordinary shower tools miss. With a larger surface area and easy-to-hold design, this shower exfoliator helps scrub your entire body with ease, making it an ideal back scrubber and a smarter replacement for loofahs, exfoliating gloves, scrub brushes, and rough washcloths.
Crafted in Japan using two uniquely developed woven threads, GOSHI balances effective exfoliation with an exceptional clean. Game changer! I saw this on Shea Whitney’s YouTube channel and honestly didn’t have high hopes, but I ordered it anyway. As you can see in the picture, I also have a spinning brush, and I love them both. I switch back and forth between them. The washcloth is a little more abrasive, which I actually love because it really exfoliates. It’s hard to believe a cloth could do that, but it does. Definitely a thumbs up!
I saw another user who cut their towel into 4 pieces, DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK! (I would NOT do this again!)This towel is fantastic in every single way except it is far too big for my situation ( I have very little shower space to maneuver it on my body when it is full size, and to hang dry it). It’s HUGE. I cut it in half both for ease of use and hang drying, and before I could use it again it started to unravel as soon as I put the scissors down 🥲 ~~The other user I saw who cut their towel, may have cut it lengthwise into very skinny strips instead of halving it.I love this towel for gentle exfoliation, it is soft enough to lather up and firm enough to scrub. It is slightly softer than a Korean body scrub pad, for reference. Unfortunately I will only get a few uses out of it before it unravels completely ~ I just bought it and love it but I wanted to warn against making the same mistake I did! I am devastated 🥹

This towel is much longer than my older one (from another Japanese mfg.) & the extra length makes it's so much easier to scrub my back. Unique to this brand, the weave of the cloth results in a varied surface, similar to a corduroy with a narrow flat space between the raised wales. When you fold the towel into layers, it creates a softer & more gentle cleansing cloth. Use it in a single layer & the exfoliating is wonderful!First photo shows the alternating flat & raised rows. Second photo shows the towel folded over creating a softer surface.Rinses out easily to hang dry after use.Definitely glad I purchased this style for both me & my husband!

Just buy this … now… quit putting in your cart. You need this. No don’t use it everyday but use 1-2 times to exfoliate. Such soft skin after!!OMG
I’ve used these for a few years and nothing compares so I am finally doing a review. I’ve tried others here and there and always return to this one. Rough but not too rough. Scrubs my skin keeping it soft, no breakouts on my back, arms, or chest. Scrubs armpits nice and smooth. I love that it’s wide while others kinda roll up. Air dries fast so I travel with it. Replace every so often and keep a stash of them!
I LOVE THIS SHOWER TOWEL EXFOLIATOR!!!!Used it last night. I used this towel along every inch of my body. I feel like I was able to be rid of 10 yrs of dead skin. I immediately noticed that my skin felt insanely soft while I was rinsing off. Then while I toweling off, my skin was “glowing”. I still applied lotion even though I really didn’t need to. I have subscribed to have a new towel sent to me every 4 mos.** side note ** I was never made aware that changing out your shower loofah was a requirement. I feel like a damn fool. Thankfully, I’ve never had to see a dermatologist for any skin issues.
It takes a couple of showers to get comfortable with using it and I find it to be too rough to use on my more sensitive bits but I don't have the constant, low-grading itching across my back any more and it is never still wet from the last time I showered when I pick it up to use. Plus, unlike a bath puff, I don't see it falling apart, literally, in a month. So far, very pleased with this purchase
While everyone may say the African Net Sponge is the best, I say “nope, it’s the Goshi.” The texture is perfect for exfoliating without being too harsh. I love using it for my back. It’s perfection!!!!
It is a beautiful blue color. It works really well and is easy to use. It dries extremely quick. I have not had any smell associated with it. As I am larger. It is definitely great!
This product works great and is very refreshing! Better than a back brush and easier to use! It is relatively large, so you'll need a place to hang it in the shower if you don't have a bar. Highly recommend this.
When I went to Japan last year my hotel provided a shower towel and I loved it! I could finally get a good scrub on my back! Unlike the one I used from the hotel this one is high quality! I've been using this shower towel 1-2 times a day for over a month now and it's still holding up like new! Also it dries quick so no mildew smell. Love it!
I bought this in May and as you can tell by the photo I have been using it daily. I absolutely love this product. It lathers great! I only have to use a little bit of soap to get a good lather. My skin is super soft and I have gotten so many compliments on my skin’s softness. My masseuse, my waxer, and my husband.
My bestie told me about this exfoliating towel after seeing it recommended on social media. She purchased it for herself several months ago and loves it. After hearing her talk about it and hearing it was both exfoliating and quick drying I ordered it for myself. I love it! It is exfoliating, but doesn’t feel overly rough on my skin. After using it I squeeze the water out and hang it on the towel rack in the shower to dry. It really does dry fast and it dries completely unlike a soggy shower poof. I may purchase a few more as Christmas gifts. If you’re on the fence, definitely get it!
I was looking for a wash cloth that was more than a cotton cloth but something that was not abrasive. This Goshi towel fit the bill. Very easy to use as it is a long towel and lathers up real well and so it takes just a little longer for the soap to rinse off completely which is not a problem. To keep it from sliding off the grab bar where I hang it, I just intertwine it loosely. I got the green looking towel and I like the color. I actually bought another towel made by Shimoyama Co. Ltd. And I found that one to be very similar and I like it too so I am keeping both. I took a photo with the Goshi on the right and the Shimoyama on the left. They look similar. For both towels you do not get the actual feel of the softness of the towels until after getting the towels wet and lathered up. I have used lightly abrasive nylon towels for years but even though these are a bit more expensive I prefer these and Iʻm glad I decided to give them a try. They are a little more pricey but
I was hesitant to spend $20 but I’ve had something similar that’s high quality before and it really is worth the money. When this one arrives it was HUGE! Not only did I not what something that bulky hanging in the shower so I decided to cut it!!The material holds up and doesn’t unravel when cut - after I sliced it in half it was still pretty large so I cut it into strips. Now I have 4!! And I feel great about the price!! 😂Seriously though I live in a very humid area and bc this doesn’t dry all the way in between showers it starts to smell mildewy after a while so having smaller ones - that will dry easier — and that I can throw away after they get to that smelly point — is a win-win!!And you can see from the photo the cut1/4 size is still plenty!
The texture of this towel is great for exfoliating, and the length makes it easy to use on your own back. It is a bit scratchy, but similar to exfoliating gloves. Unlike gloves though, or a washcloth, it hangs easily and dries quickly.I found this on a sub Reddit for KP care, and I have found it has helped smooth and soften my skin. I’ve used it with a homemade sugar scrub, but given its exfoliating properties, it can work with just soap, and/or prior to shaving. I’ve had no issues using it daily if I use a gentle soap.My only gripe is the width of the towel. It’s very narrow, and I think it could be shorter and wider without losing functionality. It can roll up on itself because of how long it is, so I end up using it more as a glorified washcloth. It is also a bit pricey (if paying full price) for what it is, but if rinsed and allowed to dry between uses you can continue to use it for a while before washing (I’ve just thrown it in with washcloths and towels weekly with no issue).
It exfoliates really well. My skin felt smoother after using one time. I’m skeptical of people saying a product makes a difference after just one use but this product actually lives up to the hype. It holds soap really well. The only con is that the material is 100% nylon according to the packaging which could be irritating to some people and isn’t the most sustainable since nylon isn’t biodegradable. The material wasn’t listed anywhere in the product details (and I searched), but it does say it on the bottom right hand corner of the packaging it comes in. It dries quickly and doesn’t have a smell after using everyday for a month. Surprisingly very sturdy and haven’t had an issue with the strings coming undone. It’s pretty long which took some getting used to it but that’s exactly what makes it so easy to clean your back. Promise you’ll wonder h
It took some time to get used to but once you lather and soke it up its soft on the skin, this has been helpful. The material after use does dry quick.
FAQs
How often should you change your shower towel?
GOSHI’s signature two-layer weave is built to last. We typically recommend replacing your exfoliating shower towel every 3 to 6 months, though we feel confident it can last for a year or more. In comparison, traditional loofahs often need to be replaced monthly due to bacteria buildup and wear.
It’s important to remember that everyone is different. If you’re a high-performance athlete or work in a field where you sweat steadily or take on the elements, you might choose to replace your more often.
One final variable is how you treat your exfoliating towel. The same way you need to rinse off, make sure you rinse out all the soap and hang to dry every time you use your GOSHI. This will ensure you get the most out of it.
Can you use GOSHI's body exfoliator on your face?
We don't recommend using GOSHI's body exfoliator on your face, as facial skin is more delicate than the skin on your body. For facial exfoliation, check out our GOSHI Exfoliating Complexion Pads, which are specifically designed to gently exfoliate the face.
How often should you exfoliate your body?
Most exfoliators should be used sparingly, with 2–3 times per week being the general rule. However, GOSHI's Exfoliating Shower Towel is gentle enough for daily use, helping remove dead skin and buildup without being overly harsh on your skin.
After exfoliating, what should be the next step?
After exfoliating, rinse thoroughly, pat your skin dry, and apply a moisturizer to lock in hydration. We recommend following up with our Super Vitamin Body Lotion to help nourish and support healthy-looking skin.
